CCSI

Coordinated Children’s Services Initiative

To support families whose children have special emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs by using a strengths-based, individualized care approach.
CCSI Services
Parent Partners

...are parents of children with special needs who work with the family to identify strengths, concerns, and barriers. The relationship between the family and the Parent Partner is dynamic, with a sense of trust and connection knowing that each has experienced similar emotional circumstances. Together, they bridge the gap between providers and the family; broker services based on the child's needs; and work with schools to foster the child's academic and social success. Parent Partners are tremendously innovative and passionately dedicated to those they serve.

Wrap Around Meetings

...are arranged for family members, service providers, and other supports to "wrap" services around the family. The strengths, needs, and concerns of the family are identified and an action plan is developed to increase the family's ability to achieve the goals they have set. The Parent Partner monitors the progress of the action plan and assists parents and other team members in overcoming any barriers to success.

Education

...is provided to allow families the opportunity to learn about their child's diagnosis and to access the community resources that are available to them.

Support Groups

...are offered monthly as a way to share information and support other parents who are experiencing similar challenges. Activities such as craft-making and strawberry picking allow families to relax and enjoy the moment. Child care and refreshments are provided.

Core Principles and Values

CCSI FOCUS uses the following values in serving families:

Strengths Based: Support focuses on the competencies of the child and family to affirm that they have strengths upon which to build.

Individualized Care: Support and intervention is designed for each child and family based on their particular needs.

Family Driven: Parents are considered the experts on their child and are viewed as partners in the process.

Community Based: Children are best served in their own home, school, and community.

Team Supported: Families and providers are united in a collaborative effort to create a seamless system of care.

Unconditional Care: The team never gives up. If the plan is not working, members will change it so that it does work.

Culturally Competent: Services are delivered with respect and understanding of the families culture including racial, ethnic, religious, and social beliefs.
